Dear CISD Community,
Welcome to our monthly school board meeting newsletter. This edition brings you a some highlights of the school board meeting that was held on October 7th. Our goal is to keep you connected and informed each month.

Student and Staff Recognition
The CHS BBQ team and sponsor Mr. Ron Krobot were recognized on Monday night. In the last few years, this group has participated in various competitions, and they are continuously practicing their BBQ cooking skills. They even treated the board and administrators to a delicious BBQ dinner before the meeting to showcase their skills.

National Principals Month
The three campus principals, Mrs. Womble, Ms. Maddox, and Ms. Williams, were recognized in honor of National Principals Month. Each principal was presented with a signed proclamation by Texas Governor Greg Abbot.

Information Items
  • Superintendent Dr. Munoz reported on upcoming district events, the House Bill 3 Board Goals, and the first common assessment student data results.
  • Director of Administrative and Support Services Mr. Colvin gave information about the Run, Walk, Roll event, informed the board about passing the safety intruder audit, presented on the CHS Comfort Promise Night School program, reviewed the state compensatory education report, gave the school health advisory council annual report, and reviewed the 24-25 district improvement plan.
  • Board President Brad Spenrath reviewed the board continuing education hours.
  • Written reports were provided for all departments.

Action Items
  • 2023-2024 financial audit report was approved.
  • 2024-2025 District and Campus Improvement Plans were approved.
  • 2024-2025 School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) members were approved.
  • Ideal Impact services and payment plan agreements were approved.
  • A math teacher was approved for employment at CHS.
