Comfort ISD District Accomplishment Update

 

District Accomplishment Update (Feb. 12, 2024)

 

CMS First Robotics Regional Competition - Students being judged  
  •    CES placed 3rd overall at the district academic UIL meet that was held in Llano on Jan. 25th
  • CMS placed 5th overall at the district academic UIL meet that was held in Llano on Jan. 27th
  • FCCLA competed at the Region V Conference in Corpus Christi, Texas, from Feb. 1st-3rd and will be headed to state in Dallas, Texas, from April 11th-14th
  • FFA had a successful stock show in January with many students participating and earning many placings.

Comfort FFA HS Sophmore wins Reserve Champion in Metal Division
 
  • CHS Boys Basketball team is headed to the first round of the playoffs on Feb. 20th.  Location has not yet been determined.
  • The Summer CTE grant application was submitted for the high school on Jan. 25th.  Notice of awards will be given in April.
  • The Title I School Improvement grant application was submitted for the elementary school on Feb. 9th.  Notice of awards will be given in March.
  • The Early College High School application was submitted and we are now waiting to see if we are given the designation.

FCCLA Comfort team wins 1st place in Region V Conference
  • Intervention periods, Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), and data meetings have been implemented at every campus.
  • CMS hosted a successful Robotics competition on January 20th.
  • Superintendent conducts classroom walkthroughs with the principals on a monthly basis.
  • A professional coach has conducted an audit of many classrooms, and will be working with the principals on how to look for best practices that will increase rigor and student engagement in the classrooms.
  • An application to implement a Marine Junior ROTC has been submitted and we are waiting to see if we get approved as a site to provide the program.
